Frankfort, Kentucky – the house committee last Wednesday, head the testimonial of different gambling operators, executives and big names in the industry. It has been heard that the state of KY is currently suffering from competition against other states and that their total tax revenues and gross income from gambling industries have been greatly affected by other gambling homes and online casinos operating from outside the country and the state. Although most of these gambling executives and some members of the board think that expanding their gambling industry would be the best solution to deal with the worldwide economic cries, the Democratic leaders on the other hand insist that this proposal should be submitted and must pass the Senate before they could actually consider this motion.

Representative Lexington mentioned that one of the reasons why she asked the court to hear this “proposal” on expansion is that it is the perfect opportunity for the Senate to hear the different impacts or effects that extended gambling could result to. Practically, people who’re proposing on extending their gambling industry are more affected by other states and would like to cope up with these huge changes that are happening within Kentucky. One of the primary reasons why this motion is being proposed is due to the mere fact that other states have generally affected their industry, and that they need to gain back the revenues and the losses that they have made during the past years. Moreover, aside from the fact that they are planning on extending gambling homes and adding more casinos to the state, there are also different proposals stating that online gambling and casinos should also be promoted since it could generally help their state rise up once more. It could bring an end to the recession period and even allow people to gain the profits they have lost during the past few years.

Proponents have mentioned on the other hand that Kentucky is now on the verge of going down – it has also been insisted that it is about time that the state would concentrate more on the breeding and racing industries which could also help the entire nation generate more revenues, without even getting affected by the rise and the continuous growth of other states.

The panels stated that there could be different approach on doing this, and that a never ending debate could occur. Nevertheless, it is heard in the court and future decisions will be announced.
