Since the Department of Justice started to legalize online gambling and most states have started to operate casinos, the number of poker players started to generally increase at the same time. Aside from blackjack, poker is another game that most people are thrilled of. Without a doubt, online poker generates revenues which are higher than other types of casino games. With this in mind, top casino executives have predicted that the amount of revenues that they could generate for the year 2012 will be higher than the previous years.  Everybody expected the casino and gambling industry to boom this year, given the fact that more websites are have started to legally operate, and more casino and game homes are being constructed in various states at the same time.

The only issue that big casinos have seen in this situation is the mere fact that they’d have problems dealing with minors. Since online gambling isn’t that strict when it comes to age and other factors, and the only thing that could define the age of an individual is through his birthday (which could be changed by the way), casino owners have not yet found a better way and a better security measure that would prevent minors from signing up and participating in these casino and gambling websites.

Over the years, poker has been found out as one of the card games that was able to generate millions of dollars in revenues in a month. This is done in regular casino homes – and it was expected to increase because of online gambling activities. Although online gambling was legalized by the US government, there are still some exceptions such as sports gambling and fantasy sports betting. These types of wagering are still considered as illegal – and aside from minors gambling, sports betting is another problem that is being faced by the local government.

Up to date, there are different sports betting websites which have been closed by the government, but there are still some out there uncaught. Nevertheless, the US government assured online legal gambling owners that they’d be able to catch these owners and bring down the site to minimize the number of illegal gambling activities which are circulating all over the country.

Without a doubt, online gambling gave new ways on bringing higher revenues towards the state, but it also provided more problems. Hopefully, within the year, everything will be resolved – including the problems with illegal gambling activities and even preventing minors from signing up and getting involved in these types of online internet activities at the same time.
